Life at Prashanti

What a childhood looks like here

The rhythm of days, meals, games, music and festivals that a child grows inside.

The daily rhythm

Six things that shape every day

Assembly

The whole school gathers, sings the school song, and hears the thought for the day. Belonging, before books.

Classrooms

CBSE lessons taught by teachers who know every child by name, with a weekly test each Monday keeping learning honest.

Meals

Wholesome, home-style food through the seasons, and for our boarders, the easy laughter of a shared table.

Games

Afternoons open into sport and free play in the mountain air, the balance to the classroom's stillness.

Music

Group singing, bhajans and the school band: the sound of this school is children's voices in tune.

Leadership

Each March, the Investiture ceremony hands real responsibility to student leaders, watched by the whole school.

The festive year

A year of celebrations

The school year is stitched together by festivals of every tradition of these hills: Losar and Bhumchu, Holi and Ram Navami, Saga Dawa and Pang Lhabsol, Independence Day with the band playing, Teachers' Day and Children's Day, Dussehra and Deepawali, and in November, Swami's Birthday, celebrated by the whole school. A child here grows up inside all of them.

Belonging

The four houses

Every child belongs to a house named for a cardinal value. Houses build friendship across ages and a gentle spirit of striving, in sport, on stage and in service.

More than lessons

A hundred ways to grow

Every child takes part in at least one sport and one co-curricular pursuit. Yogasanas, group prayer and bhajans are shared by all, and beyond them lies a wide field to explore.
