Our philosophy

Schooling for Excellence

The Sai Educare way: an education that forms not only the able, but the whole.

The idea at the heart of the school

Excellence is competition with one's own self

The quest for excellence is innate in every child. Education, in the Sai vision, is not the filling of a vessel but the drawing out of a perfection already present. As Swami Vivekananda said, education is the manifestation of the perfection already in us. Our task is not to compare one child against another, but to help each child surpass who they were yesterday.

Three ramifications of excellence

One child, formed three ways

Academic Excellence

Not marks for their own sake, but genuine understanding. A teacher never teaches History or Science; a teacher teaches the child. Learning here is a participatory venture, free of the fear of examinations.

Environmental Excellence

Cleanliness is godliness. Children learn that they shape their surroundings and are shaped by them, caring for classroom, compound and campus as an extension of caring for themselves.

Human Excellence

The natural flowering of human values. A person is remembered not for position or wealth, but for a life saturated with values. This is not a subject; it is the very purpose of education.

The three H's

Head, Heart and Hand

Bhagawan taught that a true education confers the Head of Shankara, the Hands of Janaka and the Heart of the Buddha: clear thought, selfless action and boundless compassion, working as one. An education that teaches a child to bend the body, mend the senses and end the mind produces a well integrated person, robust in body and serene in spirit.

In a single line

The end of education is character

And the end of wisdom is freedom. Everything at Prashanti Vidya Mandir, every lesson, every assembly, every game and every meal, is arranged around this one conviction. Education is for life, and not merely for a living.
